Wrestle with Attitude Award
The Wrestle with Attitude Award was established in 2025 by Mia Palumbo and Mark Dettling to honor a standout female wrestler who exemplifies a positive attitude both on and off the mat.
Each year, the award recognizes one North Dakota high school senior girl whose leadership, perseverance, and character have made a lasting impact on her team, school, and community. The recipient is a role model who not only excels in wrestling but also uplifts and empowers other female athletes to strive for greatness.
The winner will receive a $2,500 personal award, and an additional $1,000 will be donated to her high school’s girls’ wrestling program in her name.

Alexis was nominated by Coach Kriss McCleary and has had an absolutely incredible high school wrestling career. She is a 4-time North Dakota state champion with a perfect 146-0 record and was named the ND State Senior Athlete of the Year for girls wrestling.

Outside the wrestling room, Alexis is just as impressive. She serves as an officer in her local FFA chapter, where she actively competes at both the state and national levels. This fall, she’ll be attending Bismarck State College to major in Agribusiness and Farm & Ranch Management—and will continue her wrestling career at BSC!
